Das CENTRAL EUROPE Programm startet die 2. Aufforderung zur Einreichung von Projektvorschläge.
Rund 70 Millionen Euro aus dem EFRE werden für Projekte bereitgestellt.
Bis zum 18. März 2009 werden Partnerschaften, bestehend aus öffentlichen und privaten Vertretern (mindestens aus drei Ländern
und mit mindestens zwei der Partner in den EU-CENTRAL EUROPE Regionen) haben die Möglichkeit, ihre Vorschläge mit dem Ziel, zur Verbesserung der Wettbewerbsfähigkeit und Lebensqualität für die Bürger in der CENTRAL EUROPE Bereich einzureichen.
Projektpartner sind eingeladen, ihre Projekte in einer der vier Programm Prioritäten einzureichen:
- Innovation,
- Erreichbarkeit,
- Umwelt und
- Wettbewerbsfähigkeit und Attraktivität zwischen den Städten und Regionen.
Im Anschluss an die Einreichung der Anträge, wird die Qualität der
vorgeschlagenen Projekte bewertet, und die vielversprochensten, die besten und nachhaltigsten Ergebnisse umgesetzt. Diese Projekte können mit einer Co-Finanzierung von 75% bzw. 85% des Gesamtbetrags der förderfähigen Kosten gefördert werden.
Nach der Entscheidung des Begleitausschusses des Programms CENTRAL EUROPE wurden im Vergleich zum ersten Anruf Neuerungen eingeführt. Erstens: Im Gegensatz zum ersten Aufruf, können Projektpartner aus den EU Mitgliedstaaten, die außerhalb der CENTRAL EUROPE Bereich zugeordnet werden können, mit bis zu 20% des EFRE Gesamtbudget gefördert werden, wenn die Tätigkeiten, für die Umsetzung einen Nutzen für die Regionen im mitteleuropäischen Bereich haben. Zweitens können private Institutionen als Lead-Partner für
Projekte innerhalb von Priorität 1 (Innovation)eingesetzt werden.

Bewerber, die weitere Informationen und Beratung bei der Projektentwicklung benötigen, sind eingeladen, sich an das gemeinsame Technische Sekretariat in Wien oder die Nationale Kontaktstelle in ihrem zentralen EUROPA Mitgliedstaat zu wenden. Seminare für potenzielle Antragsteller werden im Februar 2009 in

CENTRAL EUROPE Programme launches the 2nd call for project proposals
Around 70 Million Euro ERDF will be allocated to projects which improve life of citizens in CENTRAL EUROPE area
The CENTRAL EUROPE Programme – a programme co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to encourage transnational cooperation projects within the Central Europe area - has opened its second call for project proposals. Until 18 March 2009 partnerships consisting of public and private representatives - at least from three countries and with at least two of the partners located in the EU CENTRAL EUROPE regions - have the possibility to submit their project proposals with the aim to improve competiveness and quality of life for citizens in the CENTRAL EUROPE area. Similarly to the first call for project proposals, which took place last year and in which 29 out of 95 projects were approved, there will be around 70 million Euro ERDF allocated for the 2nd call.
Projects partners are invited to submit their projects within one of the four programme priorities: innovation, accessibility, environment and competitiveness and attractiveness among cities and regions. Following the submission of the applications, the quality of the proposed projects will be assessed and the ones promising the best and most sustainable results will be selected for implementation. These projects can expect a co-financing rate of 75% and 85% respectively of total eligible costs according to the location of the partners.
According to the decision of the Monitoring Committee of the CENTRAL EUROPE Programme no major changes for applicants have been made compared to the first call. Nevertheless, within the second call two important novelties will make the submission more attractive for prospective applicants. Firstly in contrast to the first call the project partners from the EU Member States outside the CENTRAL EUROPE area can be allocated with up to 20% of the ERDF project total budget, if the activities they intend to implement are of benefit for regions of the CENTRAL EUROPE area. Secondly private institutions can operate as Lead partners for projects submitted within priority 1 (innovation).
